The Royal Flush comes home
On October 10, 1943 the Royal Flush was the only surviver of the 100th bomb groups mission to Munster,Germany. The pilot Robert Rosenthal brought the B-17 home with two engines out, and landed in the rapidly gathering fog. On this day the 100th bomb group became known as the "Bloody 100th"

On October 10, 1943 the 56th fighter group showed up for escort duty, and found our bombers being slaughtered by over 200 German fighters. They went right to work to end the bomber crewmans misery. Bob Johnson shot down a Me-110, and an FW-190 to become an ace!
